Doug Lynass has been practicing law for over 30 years. He was schooled
in Edmonton, graduated from the University of Alberta in Arts (B.A.
69) and Law (LL.B. 75) and in economics at the University of Washington,
(M.A. 72). Doug has focused on business and commercial law for many
years, and has successfully represented clients before all courts
in Alberta; he is a registered Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP).
Doug is active professionally, and served as the chair of the Real
Estate section for 1994-1996, as the chair of the Business Law section
for 1996-98, of the North Alberta branch of the Canadian Bar Association,
as the North Alberta Section Coordinator of the Canadian Bar Association
for 1997-1999, and as a membership committee co-chair for 1999-2003.
He has been an instructor in real estate at the Alberta bar admission
courses and prepared course materials on mortgages for the real
estate bar admission course. Doug has been a director of the West
Edmonton Business Association (1995-2003), and served as its President
for 1998-2001. Doug has been a director, officer, and President
of S.W. Edmonton minor hockey associations over many years, including
President of S.W. Zone minor hockey association of Edmonton from
1991 to 1998. Doug is currently a director of the Edmonton Royals
Jr. B hockey club of the CJHL, and a director of the U of A Rowing
Club and the Edmonton Rowing Club.
